About the Black Colleagues Association
The Illinois State University Black Colleagues Association (ISUBCA) has as its goals:
To assist Black students and faculty in dealing with and overcoming problems they may encounter while at ISU;
To become part of a communication network with other Black educationally-oriented organizations;
To assist prospective and current students in securing financial aid in the form of state and national grants and scholarships;
To help newly-enrolled ISU students adapt to college and community life and adjust to the unfamiliarity of campus and community environment;
To assist and cooperate with organizations such as the Illinois State University Alumni Association, the Illinois Committee on Black Concerns in Higher Education, and other organizations whose efforts point towards enhancing education and employment opportunities for Blacks and other Minorities;
To host problem-solving conferences, forums, and planning sessions to discuss current issues facing Black students and faculty, and implement strategies to resolve them;
To rekindle the fire of friendships formed at Illinois State that have been somewhat dimmed by time and distance.
Membership in ISUBCA is open to all Illinois State University alumni and
friends who support these goals. We invite you to join ISUBCA today! Your
$25 annual contribution will help support the Black Colleagues Scholarship Fund.
