Town & Gown 5K Run / Homecoming Parade

Town & Gown 5K Run
The Town & Gown 5-K Run is sponsored by Illinois State University and the Town of Normal.  It kicks off all of the festivities on Homecoming weekend.  The race is Saturday, October 18, 2007. The 5-K run will start at 7 a.m., with registration and check-in beginning at 5:30 a.m. inside Schroeder Hall at the corner of College and University. The race will precede the ISU Homecoming Parade and be run over two laps of the parade route.

Prizes will be awarded to overall male and female winners, and to the top three male and female finishers in the following divisions:  14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60 and over, wheelchair racers.

Homecoming Parade
The annual Homecoming Parade will step off at 9:30 a.m., Saturday morning at the corner of College Avenue and University Street. Everyone is encouraged to participate in this grand parade. Whether you’re a spectator admiring from the street, or soaring on a float, you won’t want to miss this. Grab your friends and arrange to be a participant in this year’s parade. Registration will open later this spring/summer. Contact homecoming@ilstu.edu for more information.
